Hunting buffalo in and amongst thick bush like it is at this one concession of ours, one has to be very wary and on the lookout constantly. Here it comes down to looking for fresh spoor, tracking, glassing and pure luck!

We picked up our group of hunters from Utah at the airport for their 13 day hunt. On this hunt our clients hunted three of our concessions over 13 days. Started at our Stutt Concession then moved to the Coastal Concession and finished at our Karoo Concession. The variety of animals on hunting three concessions is plentiful and the different landscapes truly show the beauty of the Eastern Cape.

What a great start to this hunt it has been for our fathers and sons, some hunted a magnificent dugga boy Buffalo while others hunted Red Hartebeest, Impala and a Sable all on day one! Buffalo hunting is such an amazing experience and one you have to work hard for. After a lot of walking, glassing and tracking our hunters had luck on their side and managed to get two magnificent Buffalo bulls over the first couple of days of the hunt. This is a first hunting trip for one of the clients and what a way to start his first Africa Hunting Safari!

Our last few days at our one concession we hunted hard and some exceptional and unique trophies were taken such as Golden Wildebeest, Tsetsebe and Sable. Golden Wildebeest are beautiful animals and being this client’s second safari he wanted to hunt something a little different. 

We moved down to our Coastal Concession. At the coast the focus was anything from hunting a Caracal with a great team of trained dogs near to the Indian Ocean to Warthog and Nyalas. Here the father and sons had the experience of staying at the river camp and travelled by boat to the get to the lodge. The landscape at the coastal area is rolling hills and acacia thickets.

The hunt ended in the Karoo at our 90 000 acre Concession. The landscape is big rocky mountains and large flat open veld. In some cases long distance shooting may be required at this concession. Animals on the wish list were mainly springbuck, wildebeest, gemsbuck, eland, etc. What a fantastic way to end this hunt with these magnificent trophies.
